About TapScore USA
TapScore USA makes it easy to check the quality of your tap water using official EPA data. We analyze violation records, contaminant detections, and compliance data from the Safe Drinking Water Information System (SDWIS) for every public water system in the United States.
Our Data Source
All water quality data comes from the EPA's Safe Drinking Water Information System (SDWIS), which tracks compliance data for approximately 49,000 active community water systems serving over 300 million Americans.
Safety Grades
We calculate safety grades (A through F) based on each water system's violation history over the past 5 years. These grades are our own assessment and are not an official EPA rating. See our methodology page for details on how grades are calculated.
